Key Responsibilities:
Design and implement a practical data-governance operating model aligned to business needs.
Define data-ownership and data-stewardship roles across relevant business domains.
Build and maintain a business glossary and supporting metadata standards.
Establish data-lineage tracking using Microsoft Purview, Collibra or equivalent tooling.
Develop and roll out data-quality and governance policies across priority data domains.
Lead stakeholder workshops to secure buy-in for governance standards and practices.
Monitor governance adoption and address barriers to sustained compliance.
Advise on GDPR-relevant data-handling practices within the governance framework.
Report governance progress and risks to senior business and technology stakeholders.
Required Skills:
Proven experience leading data-governance initiatives within a complex organisation.
Practical knowledge of DAMA principles or an equivalent governance framework.
Hands-on experience with Microsoft Purview, Collibra or a comparable governance platform.
Strong understanding of metadata management and data-lineage practices.
Experience defining and embedding data-stewardship and ownership models.
Working knowledge of GDPR and its practical implications for data governance.
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain a business glossary.
Strong stakeholder-engagement and change-management skills.
Confident written and verbal communication across technical and business audiences.
Equivalent professional experience accepted in place of formal certification.
Desirable Experience:
DAMA CDMP or equivalent data-governance certification.
